Published by
Heather Durrant, a recent graduate of Elgin High in Illinois representing the Elgin Sharks, set the national prep all-time outdoor mark in the 3,000-meter race walk by clocking 13:27.22 to repeat as the women's 17-18 division winner at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Durrant eclipsed the 2019 mark of 13:28.00 achieved by Beavercreek High of Ohio graduate Taylor Ewert at the Penn Relays. Ewert still boasts the fastest 3,000-meter indoor race walk performance in U.S. high school history at 13:24.76 from the 2019 Virginia Showcase. Durrant, who won last year at Sacramento State in 13:49.08, was part of the first American prep race to produce two female athletes under the 14-minute barrier. More videos
